Bangalore Tech Summit 2017
The three days event called Bangalore Tech Summit 2017 with the theme of the event Ideate, Innovate and Invent organized by Department of IT and BT, Government of Karnataka from 16/11/2017 to 18/11/2017. Faculty members of RNSIT attended the event.

Event: Bangaluru Tech Summit 2017

Event Dates: 16th , 17th and 18th November 2017
The three days event called Bangalore Tech Summit 2017 with the theme of the event Ideate Innovate and Invent organized by Department of IT and BT, Government of Karnataka. The Idea of the Summit was to bring together Technocrats, Researchers, Innovators, Investors and Policy Makers from different streams paving the way for interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborations leading to emergence of disruptive technologies, path breaking products and unique services.
We
registered to this event with the intention of gaining knowledge in the field
of Entrepreneurship and development mainly to strengthen ED cell of RNSIT. We could gain knowledge in
Idea generation, beginning start ups, Innovation, getting financial support for
beginning startups, knowledge on various innovation and inventions and so on.
Event
was inaugurated by our honorable chief minister on 16th morning and witnessed
by an Minister of transport and communication from Finland Mrs. Anne berner and
various other dignitaries. This event was mainly focused on two different areas
such as Information Technology and Biotechnology.

After the inaugural event we visited various stalls kept in another hall to exhibit their products and demonstration. We interacted with few company people especially Robosoft who made so many apps like paytm and others. We could get information about various android based apps useful for the society and also in the startups.
We
also attended afternoon sessions in which first session was ‘Indian IT services
pitch for newer heights: breaking barriers’. Speakers from Mindtree
Mr.N.S.Parthasarathy, Moderator Mr. Jayesh chakravarthy and Mr. Sarvesh Mahesh
from Tavant technologies spoke on various issues related to IT services,
importance in giving better services to society etc. The next interesting
session we attended was ‘The AI disruption wave – how AI and deep learning will
disrupt the world’. We could understand how this field opened so challenges
faced in the area of artificial intelligence and opportunities for the startups
and business community.
Other
important sessions we attended on 17th and 18th were
‘Exploring Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality Landscape’, Building for India –
Startups and MNCs’, and ‘India stack – leading the world in Digital
technologies’, ‘Building the next generation of telecom infrastructure for
digital India’. Later we attended key note talk on ‘Building a world class
ecosystem’ by Sanjay jain, and another prominent keynote talk by Sri TV
Mohandas Pai, chairman, Manipal global education. He spoke on getting fund for
initiating startups and also how more job opportunities can be created.
The
other sessions we attended were ‘Design for future technologies’, ‘How can
India build world class product companies?’, and ‘Living the Entrepreneur’s
dream – An ecosystem view’.

Outcome and Benefits:

We are exposed to
discussion on latest technology like Artificial Intelligence, Augmented reality
etc.
·
Gained knowledge in
getting financial assistance for startups from Karnataka state financial
corporation (KSFC) through interaction with their officials.
·
Understood the
importance of digital transactions by opening bank accounts and by using bank
related apps. This simplifies the process of granting loans and repayment of
loan amount.
·
We interacted with the
people who demonstrated Solar operated mobile pesticide sprayer, Battery
operated bicycle and bike, spectacles which converts image into speech for the
benefit of blind people.
·
One of the speakers
spoke on innovative way of fund rising for start ups. Suggestion is profit
making major companies can contribute portion of their profit to fund good
start ups.

Overall event was very
well organized and gained several ideas in executing our future EAC camps. This
will help in panel discussion, idea generation, organizing skills, fund
generation, digital transactions etc.
